Red Bulls Set to Face Montreal In Eastern Conference Semifinals

The New York Red Bulls will play Montreal Impact in the Eastern Conference Semifinals in the Audi 2016 MLS Cup Playoffs.


The Impact beat D.C. United by two goals, 4-2, in the Knockout Round on Thursday night.


New York and Montreal will meet on Sunday, October 30 at 3 p.m. ET in Canada and Sunday, November 6 at Red Bull Arena for their two-match, aggregate-goal series. Kick time and broadcast information for the second leg will be determined following the conclusion of the first leg of games across MLS.


New York is 8-3-2 all time against the Impact. The Red Bulls went 2-1 against Montreal this season. New York lost 3-0 on the road, won 3-1 at home, and won 1-0 at home this season.


The Red Bulls avoided the knockout round by finishing first in the Eastern Conference for the second-consecutive season, and third time in the last four years. New York begins its seventh-straight playoff campaign, the longest such streak amongst major professional teams in the New York metro area.
